Introduction: What is Eco Wire?

Eco Wire is hosted by Green Light-Year (GLY). Green Light-Year is a social organization focused on Educatiom for Sustainable Development (ESD).

Eco Wire is a series of long-term online live sharing activities. Till now, GLY have already held 44 sessions of Eco Wire. Every month, GLY will invite 1-2 guests who have unique insights or experiences in the field of Development Studies or International Development to share their academic or work experiences. They come from all over the world and they all have diverse backgrounds and growth experiences. GLY hopes to help friends who are interested in entering into the field of Sustainable Development to find career paths (even life paths) that are suitable for them, and to help friends who are interested in Sustainable Development learn more about the relevant information in this field.

In the future, GLY will turn Eco Wire into an communication platform for Chinese young people interested in Sustainable Development to participate in Global Governance. GLY looks forward to your continued participation and attention!

Dr. Ivan Spasojević

University of Belgrade – Institute for Multidisciplinary Research

 

Dr. Ivan Spasojević is a biophysicist, a research professor, and PI of a multidisciplinary research group at the University of Belgrade – Institute for Multidisciplinary Research. His studies are mainly focused on the physiology and biotechnological applications of microalgae. His goal is to combine scientific excellence with applications and innovations. He is the author of more than 80 scientific papers. Ivan led several projects, including the project LIQUID 3.

He will meet Chinese youth online to share his project “Liquid Trees”, which won the United Nations Development Programme Climate Change Innovation Award in Serbia, and how he proposed and implemented solutions to address climate change in an interdisciplinary and innovative way.
