Shanghai, as a pioneering city in China for creating low-carbon communities, has successfully established dozens of such communities since 2017. These low-carbon communities have accumulated rich experience in building resilient communities, involving a collaborative win-win model among government departments, community organizations, residents, and industry institutions, providing a good example for effective community climate actions. The aim of this forum is to invite domestic and international experts in low-carbon architecture, low-carbon community planning, and community climate action to not only share stories of China’s grassroots community low-carbon transformation, but also to explore specific practices and collaboration methods for communities to collectively address the challenges of climate change, through both online and offline discussions on Shanghai Climate Week’s civil international communication platform. With a mission to forge a community of shared future for mankind, this event aims to promote grassroots international cooperation and exchange, contributing to the development of low-carbon communities in China, and advancing the achievement of global sustainable development goals.
