At the same time, Xishuangbanna is still an underdeveloped area, and many problems such as the traditional cultural heritage protection, targeted poverty alleviation, uneven distribution of educational resources, hollowing out of rural areas, and garbage surrounding villages, and so on, are worth paying attention to. It is and ideal destination for young people to fully understand the social and rural problems in western China.
After the successful conclusion of the 19th CPC national congress, China’s targeted poverty alleviation has sounded the final rallying call——by 2020, eradicating poverty and moving towards a moderately prosperous society in all respects will be a remarkable achievement of human development. In this project-based learning camp, we led the students to independently form a team to carry out the subject research from the perspectives of economics, anthropology, ecology, biology, sociology, environmental science, public management and other disciplines, so as to experience the progress of ecological civilization construction in the west with the theme of “not only gold and silver mountains, but also clean water and green mountains”.
